What a Blast

So how much for you to put this bad boy in Blue?
Anna and I had a great time talking to Jay Kraft from Bay Breeze Yacht Sales of Traverse City. It is no surprise that not only does this boat attract great people, it is sold buy some of the nicest people. Thanks Jay for letting us ohhh and ahhh over this sweet boat. If anyone is interested in these boats in the great lakes area, give this guy a call. 231-941-5884

All right Ed, I will think about going halves.

Think I could put these babies on Blue?

This is the wheelhouse of my dreams

I was going to tell this guy he missed a spot but Anna's aim for my shin is flawless

Engage!

Honey its perfect!

Had to look twice at this one. If I didn't see it I would never have believed it.

Try to guess which beer belongs to the guy thinking about buying a boat.

Ed finally found two great guys who were willing to help him ponder his situation.

Trawler Fest Florida

Well, it has been a wonderful few days her in ft. Lauderdale Fl. The Diesel course I took was absolutely great, and was filled with ten guys all enthusiastic about cruising and knowing more about their diesel engines. What a awesome group of people!
Anna had fun in her woman's boating course. I was shocked to here that on her first day she was behind the wheel of a 130,000 pound steel trawler and maneuvering it through the inter coastal waterway with ease. Most importantly she seems to have broken through the fear barrier and now views operating our boat as a welcome challenge. Way to go PM university, HOME RUN!
After two full days of classes, we where excited for the arrival of My Uncle. Ed and my father helped me bring or boat back to Nantucket after we purchased it in Ct. It was a great two days filled with laughs and tasteless jokes. At the end of the trip Ed was hooked. So he joined us here at Trawlerfest and with the look of a man that is about to make the best worst decision he has ever made, proceeded to shop some of the finest trawlers on the market.
At the end of the day we parted ways having not put pen to paper, yet we feel blessed to have been witness to one of the greatest parts of boating, the search.
Hope you enjoy the pics, we enjoyed taking them.

Three at sea

I first saw a video with this young girl while trying to find information on the Great Loop. From what I can tell she is traveling the world with her parents in their Nordhauven Trawler. I guess these videos are a form of home school project. Whatever they may be, she dose a great job. I hope she knows how lucky she is to have such a unique childhood experience.

On our way to Trawler Fest

Well we are off to Trawler Fest this Tuesday in sunny Ft Lauderdale. Anna is going to take a boat handling course for women, and I am taking a diesel maintenance course. It should be loads of fun and give our confidence levels a big boost. Check it out this is last years gathering in NY.

Killing time on Nantucket in the Winter

Well it is about 15 weeks till we leave. The anticipation for the trip is almost to much to bare. We have shown our house to a few potential renters and have put a huge dry erase board in or living room listing all the tasks needed to be done before we leave. We are as they say, in the home stretch. To be honest we have been so busy, a stress reliever was in order. Shooting skeet seemed to be just what the doctor ordered.

Just another day at work

Not rain not sleat not even snow will stop us from keeping these damn engines running.

It's going to be a great year!

With the Holidays behind us Anna and I find ourselves hit with the reality that we have 17 weeks left to get our lives ready to leave on our great adventure. It is going to be a race to the finish for sure. Hope everyone had a great holiday season.
